What constitutes a cash advance on my credit card?
semajcl asked:
I just want to know how my statement continues to reflect a cash advance balance when, to my knowledge, we've not used our credit card to obtain hard cash.

One would have to see your statement to properly answer your question. Is what you are refering to a statement which says you may draw down what is indicated as a cash advance?
Have you ever used your credit card to make a payment at your financial? At the credit union I work at, if someone wants to use their credit card to make a loan payment or even put money in their account, we swipe their card as a cash advance. The checks that you get with your credit card statement are the same as a cash advance, I believe, so be careful! I would call the credit card company and ask when the cash advance was done and double check your statement for that month.
the checks that you get in the statement are also cash advance checks but with a lower rate, or if you EVER made a cash advance with your credit card and haven't paid the full balance of that advance, its still going to reflect on your bill. if you are 100% sure you didn't do one, put in a claim and you will get your money back.
