I live in arizona, I have a checking account (but its not 30 days old yet), I have a job that I just started and haven't been paid yet. I have no family to count on, and just got divorced so my credit is in the tank. I need $300-$400 to help with rent and food til next thursday. Any ideas guys and girls?

Try those small check advance places all around these days. Their usualy a little more relaxed about credit etc. If you have a job and a way to pay it back PLUS a checking account you should be good to go. You may have to trya couple of different ones though depending on policies and the person you deal with. If all else fails try craigslist.com and maybe someone can help you out if you write them a post dated check or something. Good luck :)

I would avoid that payday loan/title loan places at all costs if I were you. Sure, it looks like they are helping you, but when all is said and done, the interest charged is in the range of 40-50% when you include fees. And, heaven help you if you are late on a payment.

Instead, I would chat with my landlord, bank, etc… and let them know the situation. If you are going to have the money in a week or so, most folks will understand, and are willing to work with you, rather then go through the time and expense of punishing you.

    Best of luck

do not eat. people have gone for several weeks without food you can make it. there is noting more financially suicidal than cash advance loans.

Have you checked to see if you could get some cash in advance from your employer? You may could get on at the check cashing places if you are willing to give them your car title. The interest would be high, but if you could pay if back off quickly it might work for you. Also, some lenders and banks will give you a short term loan for like 6 months and you could get a little extra and then pay it back before the time is up and it will help build up your credit record too.

I would try asking a friend those cash advance places are a rip off. Or maybe pawning somethings until you get paid.

Ask your boss if you can have next week's pay early, even ask co-workers if they would be willing to give you a loan if you are that desperate. Although then you'd be behind next week so you'd have to spread the payment out.

Anyone else you turn to likely isn't going to charge the absolutely ridiculous interest involved with payday loans

I don't know who said it was about 40-50% interest on payday loans……most of the places I have dealt with require anywhere from 100% to 456% interest on their "payday advances"!!!!!!!!!!

Talking to your landlord about your payday being next Thursday, he may require a small "late fee" but it will not compare to the interest rate of a "cash advance loan".

I was in your shoes not too long ago… Definately talk to your landlord… IF he feels like you're being honest and upfront (and has advance warning) he's more likely to work with you… It absolutely BITES, but consider trying your local food pantry/Salvation Army for food assistance… If you're in Kingman, stop by and I'll feed you dinner… ;)

I've answered this before. I used a company called Aftersense and they offer various financial services. They helped me obtain a loan when i had hardly any income. Make sure you select "None of the Above" for How do you receive your pay. you can fill in a form on their website and they will give you a call back. Hope this sorts your problem out.
