Cant pay back Cash Advance? Jail?
gaga asked:
Heres the jist of the situation.
Brother in law wrote a check of $800 to Cash Advance but will not be able to make payments at this time.
Will it hit their credit or will he get in trouble for having a bounced check??
Also, I think he has a criminal history, if this makes a difference..

It will hit his credit. He will probably sued in small claims. The interest will be high.
He will not go to jail–unless he committed fraud by writing the check when he knew at that time he would not have the money.
It depends on where he did it. Some jurisdictions are more aggressive than others.
Do whatever you can to work something out. It's possible he could get into big credit.
The law is a lot harder on you if you already have a criminal record. They want to put these people back into jail.
Good luck.
He could go to jail because the check bounced…try making payments even if you have to make $10 ones for a while, they may work with you.
